On the planet's last day, he is faced with a dilemma; Should he spend his last hours with his family, who have chosen to celebrate his disabled sister's birthday, or should he meet up with his crush, who is impatiently waiting for him at the local beach?
Instruktør, Niels Holstein Kaa er ulykkelig i København. I håb om at genvinde troen på lykken og kærligheden rejser Niels til byen Yellowknife i det nordvestlige Canada, hvor han boede for ti år siden. Rejsen bliver et opgør med fortiden, nutiden og den person han må erkende han er.

In a suburban town characterized by an unpopular no-drinking policy and a simmering atmosphere of misery, the drunken country sheriff wakes up with a raging hangover and a big problem: he's lost his revolver. In search of his missing revolver, the officer fights a futile battle to maintain control over the workers' drunkenness and a strange moped gang with evil intentions.
While at work, the dutiful caretaker Ellis is sought out by his long-lost sister Mira. Under the guise of being in training as a caretaker, she comes with him to work. Throughout a hectic workday, they try to find each other again, through a confrontation of old traumas, open wounds, and unrequited sibling love.
Malik feels like a stranger in Sweden after his family fled there from Iraq. In Sweden he is bullied and often gets into fights at school. When Saddam Hussein is hanged, the family decides to move back to Iraq, which excites Malik as he can now finally feel at home somewhere. Soon after arriving, however, Malik begins to feel the same strangeness that he did in Sweden. It begs the question: What is home and what does it really mean to belong somewhere?
