Born in 1998 and raised in Amager, Annika had her very first encounter with filmmaking back in elementary school, when she wrote, directed, and starred in her own horror short alongside her childhood best friend. It was shot on an old Sony Ericsson, ketchup served as fake blood, and the editing happened in the classic, clunky version of iMovie and ever since, she’s never really been able to let go of making films.
She truly found her way into the industry during her studies in Media Production and Management at the Danish School of Media and Journalism. An internship led her straight into the industry, and since then she has created her own short film and worked freelance on larger productions, including with Uma Film. She has also specialized in green filmmaking and worked closely with Netflix on sustainable production solutions — something that has become a natural part of her approach as a producer. Today she works as a Producers Assistant at Scanbox Production.
Annika loves everything from arthouse to comedy but has a particular soft spot for fantasy and sci-fi. Her greatest wish with the films she creates is simply to move people and make them feel something.
