Valeria works with script- and project development and
has created the label, Writers Write Films, to have a forum for new
initiatives, workshops and events directed towards mainly scriptwriters. She
works independently as a story editor, reader and scout, and creates and
organizes workshops and readings. She tailors individual development-processes
for producers. She is a member of the board at the new
She has expertise working with MEDIA-applications and
can work in English, Swedish and German, with skills in Norwegian as well.
Approaching her 3rd year of association with the
European script development programme, Script&Pitch Workshops (supported by
MEDIA), she is now content manager, and has started coaching the participating
story editor trainees in 2008.
Since April 2008 she is Project Development Manager
with the new Italian production fund, TorinoFilmLab, which offers a training
part (in collaboration with Script&Pitch) and a development process, which
gives access to the chance of winning a production-award. The fund selects
projects by invitation only and is open to first and second time directors from
all over the world. Valeria works closely with the projects from they are
selected up to the annual pitch-event at the Torino Film Festival in November.
Valeria has worked as a tutor on other workshops,
among them NisiMasa’s European Short Pitch (short film-projects) and Maia
Workshops (for producers). She has since 1998 participated in the major
European film festivals, including the new Screenwriter’s Festival in
Valeria’s background in film took off with a BA in
Film- & Media Science and she has moved from distribution through the
Danish Film Institute and film festivals (national and abroad – Berlinale
Talent Campus) to her current area of expertise: development and script editing.
